7 Step Process to Create your NEW Logo!

The logo is the visual representation of your brand, and it's often the first thing that people notice about your business. A well-designed logo can create a lasting impression on your audience, while a poorly designed one can do the opposite. In this blog post, we will discuss our 7 steps in the logo design process.

Step 1: Research
The first step in the logo design process is research. Before we start designing, it's important to understand your target audience, your competition, and your brand values. We also want to know what you envision for your logo. What imagery and colors are important to you and resonate with your brand. This research will help us to create a design that is memorable, impactful, and relevant to your audience.

Step 2: Define the Scope and Purpose
Next, it's important to define the scope and purpose of the logo. What is the logo going to be used for? Will it be used in print materials or digital platforms? Is it for a product or a service? Defining the scope and purpose of the logo will help guide our design choices and might make us aware that you need different formats for different purposes.

Step 3: Brainstorm and Sketch
Once we have a clear understanding of your audience and the purpose of the logo, it's time for our team to start brainstorming and sketching. This step is all about exploring different ideas and possibilities. We don't have to worry about getting everything perfect at this stage, we just let our creativity flow and sketch out as many ideas as possible.

Step 4: Refine and Simplify
After brainstorming, it's time to refine and simplify our ideas. We take a look at the elements that are most important, and designs that “work” and focus on those. Then, we start eliminating anything that's unnecessary or that detracts from the overall design. This is where we take our sketches and convert them to the digital space – and really bring them to life.

Step 5: Choosing Colors and Typography
Colors and typography are essential elements of any logo design. They can communicate a lot about your brand's personality and also set the right vibe for your business. We’ll choose colors and typography that are consistent with your brand identity and that convey your brand to your audience.

Step 6: Review and Test
Once we have a few final designs to present, it's important to review and test it. We’ll show them to you and your team and get their feedback. Then, we’ll make any necessary changes and revisions. We typically offer 3 rounds of revisions on a chosen design, but often clients fall in love with one design right away so several rounds aren’t always needed. We’ll test it in different sizes and contexts to make sure it's legible and effective and sets the tone for your brand.

Step 7: Finalize and Implement
Now it’s time to finalize the design and implement the logo. This includes creating different versions of your logo for different platforms and applications, such as social media, print materials and apparel. We’ll also provide you with branding guidelines so that you’ll know what colors and typefaces to use in all applications along with the do’s and don’ts of using your logo in order to always maintain consistency.
