Let's Get Cooking!

It’s no secret that we love a good design…but what comes second to most creatives (especially here) seems to be baking & cooking. During these last few weeks of social distancing we’ve been able to transition our businesses to home while still operating at 100% and we’ve had a lot of extra time to spend time with our families and loved ones that we might not have had a chance to do otherwise.

Many of us are preparing so many more meals and snacks at home than we’re used to so we thought it might be fun share a few of our favorite EASY things to make at home over the next few weekends that also seem to be a big hit with everyone.

Soft Pretzels

There’s something totally nostalgic about soft pretzels - I can remember smelling them at the mall as far back as I can remember- that delicious combination of bread and butter. One of our favorite recipes for soft pretzels can be found here: https://sallysbakingaddiction.com/easy-homemade-soft-pretzels/

Simple basic ingredients: Flour, Sugar, Yeast, Water, Butter, Salt and Baking soda. Don’t skip the baking soda bath at the end…you want them to come out tasting like pretzels, not bread shaped like a pretzel!

These were so good we made them twice last weekend, no joke. Sprinkle them with salt, or Everything Bagel Seasonings, dip them in mustard, cheese sauce or just eat them as is.

Beer Bread

If you don’t have yeast, no problem! Here’s a recipe for you!

There’s something about baking bread that’s not only relaxing but also makes us feel accomplished - that we’re actually able to create something that we keep in the house all the time. This recipe is pure gold.

6 Ingredients will get you a beautiful loaf of bread: Flour, Salt, Sugar, Baking powder, Butter and a 12oz Beer.

Our tip - use whatever crappy beer your have laying around (Don’t waste the good beer!) You know, the one random budweiser or PBR that someone left at your house last summer after that BBQ – use that one!

We hope you enjoy the weekend and can carve out a little time for your own creativity, baking and spending quality time with your loved ones. If you end up making one of these thing, hit us up! We’d love to hear from you! Be well everyone, we can’t wait to see you soon!
